GeM Learning Management System Expands to 12 Languages: Boosting Accessibility and Efficiency

  • Expanded Language Support: The GeM LMS now accommodates e-learning courses in Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odiya, Punjabi, Tamil, and Telugu. This enhancement is designed to improve accessibility and provide a more seamless learning experience for users in different regions.
  • Enhanced User Experience: The updated LMS features a user-friendly interface with dedicated libraries and a progress tracking dashboard. This structure is intended to facilitate better navigation and comprehension of the GeM portal’s functionalities and policies.
  • Multilingual Learning Tools: GeM CEO Prashant Kumar Singh emphasized the importance of offering learning resources in multiple languages to help users understand the procurement processes and navigate the portal effectively. The LMS includes a four-level Buyer Certification programme, allowing users to progress through various learning paths and obtain valuable certifications.
  • Increased Adoption: Since its launch four months ago, the GeM LMS has seen a remarkable 32-fold increase in user registrations, with over 4,000 users enrolled in different courses. More than 600 Buyer certificates have been issued, indicating the platform’s growing popularity and effectiveness.
  • Significant Growth: The GeM platform has achieved a gross merchandise value of Rs 1.25 lakh crore for Q1 of the current financial year, reflecting a 136% increase from the previous year. This growth highlights the portal’s role in enhancing transparency and reducing corruption in public procurement.
